Nestle Food Distribution Center
Nestle Food Distribution Center
Size: 4,500 Tons
Duration: 6 Months
Anderson, Indiana

The Rack Structure Design/Build Team at Indiana Bridge-Midwest Steel designed, fabricated and erected 4500 Tons of structural steel for a two temperature refrigerated, automated rack storage facility for HK Systems and Nestle Foods. This storage and distribution system supports America’s largest milk products production facility. The rack system is eight (8) aisles of triple deep storage, 15 levels high (108 feet six inches) and contains an impressive 100 miles of structural tubing and 90 miles of load rails.

The Midwest Steel Team offered a voluntary alternate to HK Systems’ project management team that contributed to a 5% project cost reduction. HK’s management team also commended the Midwest Steel Team on their flexibility and ability to accommodate all of Nestle’s needs quickly and efficiently. Our site safety record was excellent - - zero lost-time or recordable incidents for the entire duration of the project.
