Projects that demand the highest levels of quality and precison are a speciality for Midwest Steel. With four decades of expertise erecting automotive assembly plants, as well industry leadership in AS/RS Rack Structures, Midwest Steel was recognized as the perfect choice for this project.

Our work at the Ford Kentucky Truck facility in Louisville required erection of a trestle over the existing structure while also working within the confines of a very tight laydown area.

Our focus on safety, quality and precision work on the building prompted the awarding of additonal portions of the $5.2 million project as well. Project tasks have included the supply and erect work encompassing more than 1,000 tons of steel.

By investing $80 million in the Kentucky Truck Plant facility upgrades, Ford Motor Company positions itself to add 350 new jobs to meet high customer demand for their F-Series Super Duty trucks. Midwest Steel is proud to participate in the expansion of Ford's manufacturing capacity. When fully on line, this 6-million-square-foot plant will increase productivity by approximately 15 percent.

Along with the structural steel and automotive rack work, facility upgrades include retooling and body and paint shop automation improvements. Midwest Steel played a significant role in boosting F-Series truck manufacturing capacity.
